Customer Opinions

Others have said this, and I agree, that I just feel like I am floating in it. I toss and turn very little because all positions are extremely comfortable. No pressure points even when laying on my side (I am primarily a back sleeper). Often I wake up in the same spot and position that I went to sleep in. I sleep very soundly in this bed and wake-up very rested and refreshed almost every day.

For someone with allergies this is a fairly hypoallergenic mattress since it doesn't have the usual materials used to fill the inside of conventional mattresses and thus should be less of a breeding ground for common allergens such as dust-mites.

When I laid on it, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting memory foam. Once on it, I could barely move and turning over was a real challenge. I also could see how this could get very warm at night.

The other big issue: it's almost impossible to sit upright on the bed for any length of time. I do a lot of work sitting cross-legged on my bed, because that happens to be how & where I am most comfortable, and with the Tempurpedic I just kept sliding down, down, down. Like I imagine being in quicksand would be.

When someone sits on the bed, the other side gets much firmer than it was. Then deflates again as soon as the weight is taken off. There is a hard bar down the middle of the bed that separates the two sides. If you like your bed hard you cannot feel it, but if you have it on a softer setting, be careful that you don't roll over on it.

How Long Does It Last?

What affects the expected lifetime of a memory foam matress and do Tempur mattresses last longer? The answer is years and years as long as it's made of better quality, higher-density foam.

Real NASA Link

Many manufacturers claim Swedish foam was first used by the NASA Space Program to boost sales for their foam matress.

NASA never did use that basic material in the 1960s. NASA foam mattress or space foam mattress technology simply does not exist as such.

The truth is the Swedish Tempur-Pedic company did eventually come up with a reliable formula now used in the best-selling Tempur mattress.

While Tempurpedic beds are commonly known as Swedish beds, not all such products made in Sweden are made of the so-called NASA bed foam.

Authenticity Test

How can you check if your purchase as good as a real Tempur-Pedic mattress? You can try the wine glass test, the egg test, or the fridge test.
